Electrolux’s packaging design team offers a prime example of just how much Wrike can improve creative processes — and the undeniable results they’re able to achieve as a result.
Electrolux is a global home appliance brand based in Stockholm, Sweden. Its packaging design team creates artwork for a wide range of appliances, from ovens to dishwashers, and everything in between. They also create supporting assets for Electrolux’s products, such as point-of-sale signage.
With the introduction of Wrike, the packaging design team was able to move from a chaotic, slow system of information gathering, proofing, and approvals, to a process that saves them time and reduces stress across their team.
Struggling with inefficient processes
The packaging design team at Electrolux relied on an ad hoc collection of sources for information gathering before tasks. Whether task details were coming through emails, Slack messages, meetings, or even Post-it notes, the team was spending too much time tracking down what they needed to start their work.
When it came time for stakeholder reviews of their creative work, the inefficient processes continued. Feedback would be shared via a collection of sources, making it difficult to track and implement. Comments were often made on old versions of assets, causing confusion and frustration — and often mistakes as well.
Once assets were created and approved, the team at Electrolux didn’t have a simple place to store the assets that was easily accessible to everyone who needed them.
Global Packaging Manager Ella Rudebeck explains: “It was really hard to keep track of all the changes if you had to look through different email chains or if you weren’t in a meeting where a decision was made. We just felt the whole process was very ineffective.”
Recouping time for creative work
After researching and testing other work management solutions, the Electrolux team chose Wrike and has been reaping the rewards ever since. Their biggest time saver? Wrike’s powerful proofing tools that enable stakeholders to leave comments directly on concepts and designs and allow creatives to make changes without leaving the platform.
Rudebeck explains, “We have decreased the amount of emails sent to each other because we’re communicating via Wrike now. It’s fewer emails between everyone, and at least 50% fewer emails for designers.”
Because of that recouped time, designers now have time to produce up to 10 times more assets per project, unequivocally delivering more for their company than ever before.
Electrolux’s packaging design team now has a single place where all assets can be found, which not only has reduced time spent searching for relevant files but has also improved relationships with other departments that can more easily find assets quickly.
The team has also created Blueprints for tasks that help them automate their workflows, set up a request form to streamline and speed up intake, and enjoyed the ability to visualize timelines and key milestones with Wrike’s Gantt charts.
