Here at Wrike, our core job is to foster purposeful collaboration by making all elements of work more clear and actionable. So when Microsoft announced Teams, a chat-based workspace, as part of Microsoft Office 365, we knew it was an important development.
Office 365 is one of the most popular productivity suites on the market and chat-based collaboration tools, such as Slack or HipChat, are gaining deeper acceptance as enterprises aim to take collaboration out of email threads to get work done quicker. A recent study by SpiceWorks found that 53% of companies with more than 500 employees now use collaborative chat apps.
Teams brings together people, conversations, and content along with the tools that teams need, so they can easily collaborate. Because it’s built on Office 365, users benefit from integration with their familiar Office 365 apps and services. It delivers enterprise-grade security and compliance, and is extensible and customizable to fit the needs of every team.
Today, we’re proud to announce Wrike's integration with Teams. We’ve worked with Microsoft to deliver powerful Wrike features and functions through the Teams chat interface. Teams users can now create tasks and manage projects, which keeps communication within the context of work and collaboration within Office 365. This is just the latest of several developments we have with Microsoft, including integrations with popular tools like Microsoft OneDrive, Office 365 and Office 365 Single Sign-On.
Here are some of the features Teams users will be getting:
- Create projects and tasks. Build new projects within Teams and see all tasks as they appear in Wrike. Add any Wrike project as a tab in a Teams chat channel.
- Modify tasks. See task details with rich formatting and images. Make any changes, such as updating status, assignee, due date and task comment, right from the Teams interface.
- See a visualization of project schedules. Get the full picture of task schedules using the Gantt chart timeline view.
- Receive Wrike notifications. Stay on top of all projects with notifications delivered to Teams chats via an Office 365 Connector.
The Wrike integration with Teams is now available as part of the Teams general availability announced today.
